Sam Bradford spent all of last season fighting to win over the hearts and minds of Eagles fans. It didn’t work. He tried to win over the media*. It didn’t work. He tried to win over the team. It seemed to work on the players, but not so much the higher-ups. He got a new contract out of it, but now that the Eagles have traded up to #2 to draft a QB, Bradford is understandably not happy about.

“He’s hot,” one source told Adam Schefter, putting the dramatic pause in the wrong spot. “Who wouldn’t be? This is Philly saying, ‘We don’t see (you) as long-term answer.’ He’s mad and wants to show everyone who’s best.”

He can go out and “show everyone who’s best” all he wants, but a career year for him – anything short of an elite level performance – would still maybe only buy him an extra season with his history. The writing is on the sleeves wall, and it’s signed by Howie Roseman.

*The same media that mostly tore Bradford apart – which is fine, it’s kinda their job – spent all of yesterday’s Howie Roseman presser asking questions like “What about Sam?” and “Did you tell Sam?” and “Does Sam need someone to talk to? I’m always here if he needs someone.”
