Chris Christie is in the midst of a career transition of sorts. While many politicians use the waning years of their current office to campaign for another, higher office, Christie is so easily disliked that he’s going into the only career that suits him: sports talk bullshitter.

Last night on SportsNet New York’s Baseball Night, Christie went in on Phillies fans, spurned by the dumb and harmless “Ya Gotta Believe” story:

“The Phillies suck. Let’s just start with that. They’re from Philadelphia. They’re an awful team. They’re an angry, bitter fan base and it’s not safe for civilized people to go to Citizens Bank Park if you want to root for the other team.”

It hasn’t been “dangerous” for opposing fans at Citizens Bank Park since…it opened? Sure, there was Pukémon, but that was friendly fire. There’s your usual, typical drunkenness, but to say there’s any sense of CBP being “unsafe” is silly, hot-takey bullshit and the only way Christie can get anyone to pay any attention to him.

Meanwhile, here is a clip from JerryWorld, Christie’s stadium of choice:

Kyle: I would’ve made the headline Chris Christie Is a Fat Asshole. To each his own.
