Joel Embiid. My goodness.

The new $100 million+ man took to the court last night against the Brooklyn Nets for his preseason debut, just days after inking a new contract extension with the Sixers. Embiid had quite the night, dropping 22 points, to help Philly earns its first win this preseason, 133-114.

Wednesday night’s game was a landmark moment in the history of The Process, but you almost didn’t see it.

Embiid also made a near half-court shot. Of course it was after the whistle:

Markelle Fultz did not play, but he was hammered by one NBA exec yesterday:

“Honestly, I don’t know where to start,” one NBA executive told Bleacher Report. “This is mind-boggling. Who in the world told him to do anything like that? In college, he just shot 65 percent [on free throws]. It needed minor adjustments. This new thing is crazy, and a few weeks ago, he had an entirely different technique. Why change every time for the worse?”

The Sixers will “host” the Miami Heat on Friday for their next preseason contest.

Get it.

The Roundup:

It’s Eagles gameday! The birds face the Carolina Panthers tonight on Thursday Night Football. Kickoff is set for 8:25 p.m. Our CB staff predictions are set to drop later today and be sure to follow the live game thread tonight as well for some great content.

Tonight the Eagles will be wearing the all-white get-up. Thank goodness no color rush BS:

Heading into tonight’s contest, the biggest to date thus far for the Birds, CBS Sports did a great breakdown of the Eagles so far this season:

If it seems like a cop-out to say we won’t really know whether the Eagles are legit until they play some better competition, well, that’s because it probably is.

If they can’t stack wins over these next few weeks, however, there’s a real chance they could hit a spat of trouble after their bye week once again. After taking the week off in Week 10, the Eagles play five of their seven remaining games against the Cowboys (twice), Seahawks, Rams, and Raiders. That’s not exactly a friendly schedule.

If the Eagles can do to the Panthers what they did to the Cardinals, though, that might be as surefire a sign as we’ll get that they’re a force to be reckoned with.

Be sure to stay tuned to CB throughout today and on Friday for great day-after Eagles coverage.

The Flyers….ugh. Staged a GREAT comeback on Tuesday night and then blew it. Here are AntSanPhilly’s takeaways.
