Score one for M Night in the Sixers’ courtside game, as Meek Mill has been sentenced to 2-4 years in prison for multiple parole violations.

From Philly.com:

A Philadelphia judge on Monday sentenced the rapper Meek Mill to two to four years in prison for again violating his probation from a 2008 drug and gun case, putting his career on hold for at least the next two years.

The 30-year-old, Philadelphia-born Mill seemed stunned at the sentence from Common Pleas Court Judge Genece E. Brinkley, as were the dozen or so supporters who gasped at her decision.

“I gave you break after break, and you basically just thumbed your nose at this court,” Brinkley told Mill. She said Mill’s sentence would be served in state prison, where he would be eligible for state parole supervision after two years.

“Then I’ll be done with you,” Brinkley added.

The judge ordered Mill immediately taken into custody, and he quickly started removing his gold watch and other personal items and handing them to his lawyer, Brian J. McMonagle, before sheriff’s deputies escorted him from the courtroom.

McMonagle, who earlier this year represented Bill Cosby in his sexual assault trial, declined to comment on the hearing or Brinkley’s decision. When asked whether he would appeal the sentence, he shot back: “You’re godd—ed right I am.”

Meek’s lawyer channeling Heisenberg may be my favorite part of this story.

But make no mistake, this is a HUGE blow to the Sixers’ celeb game. If you’re wondering where Meek ranks on that scale– he was sitting next to Joshua Harris at the home opener. Ben Simmons was in one of his latest videos. Markelle Fultz posts videos of himself listening to Meek on Snapchat. Lil Dicky and Meek shot hoops in The Center tunnel after a recent game. On the strength of these interactions alone, I actually had Meek out ahead of M Night in our recent Sixers celeb power rankings, on which Mr. Mill now drops down behind the local director who brings Samuel L. Jackson to games. And the big winner in all of this may be Kevin Hart, who seems poised to move into the top 2 and then YELL ABOUT IT REALLY LOUDLY.

Meek twice violated his parole this year. In March, he was arrested for fighting at a St. Louis airport, though those charges were dropped and the airport worker responsible for the encounter, who was miffed that Meek wouldn’t take a picture with him, was fired and is being prosecuted.

In October, Meek pled guilty to reckless driving charges for riding a dirt bike in New York.

On Facebook, Jay-Z lambasted the sentence:

The sentence handed down by the Judge — against the recommendation of the Assistant District Attorney and Probation Officer — is unjust and heavy handed. We will always stand by and support Meek Mill, both as he attempts to right this wrongful sentence and then in returning to his musical career.

Mill has a long history with the judge, who has gone so far as to show up to a local homeless shelter to make sure Meek was carrying out his community service duties (spoiler: he wasn’t). She has had her patience tested as Meek scheduled concerts outside the Philly area after he was specifically instructed not to.

But I’m just flabbergasted. I had no idea he was facing jail time. I certainly wouldn’t have put him atop the rankings if he was. I feel like we need Joshua Harris to throw his weight around here. We can’t have overzealous judges just tossing our superfans in jail. Next thing we know Monty G will be brought up on federal money laundering charges for literally hiding money at a laundromat. Baby, baby!

Either way, Meek Mill has got issues.
