Some bad news coming out of Florida.

A small plane went down in the Gulf of Mexico. According reports, that plane has the tail number of one of Roy Halladay’s planes:

That comes from a local news sports director.

News 8 in Tampa is reporting that the tail number belonged to Roy Halladay:

They are not releasing the tail number of the plane, but News Channel 8 has learned the tail number is registered to an address that belongs to former MLB all-star Roy Halladay.

It is still under investigation who owns the plane and if that person was aboard the aircraft.

Police have confirmed that one person died, though they have not said the indentify of the person.
