Good news: The Flyers scored last night. Twice in regulation! Also good news: Nolan Patrick returned for the first time in nine games!

Bad news: The Flyers lost their lead to the Winnipeg Jets with 49 seconds left in regulation and ended up falling in a shootout! Are you surprised by that?

The two goals came in the first 5:15 of the game and were scored by two-thirds of the top line, with Wayne Simmonds contributing an assist while on the second goal on the power play. Brian Elliott stopped 31 of 33 shots, while Winnipeg’s Connor Hellebuyck stopped 30 of 32 shots.

They got a point with the shootout loss, but outside of the first five minutes of the opening period, the team looked like the same old team we’ve seen.

While he was pleased with his performance, Embiid tried not to be too excited.

“Like the great Sonny Hill always tells me, ‘You got to keep the balance,’ ” he said. “You can’t get too high, and you can’t get too low.

“If I have a bad game, bad game. If I have a great game, like [Wednesday night], there’s a lot of games. I’m going to have some bad ones. You just can’t get too high or too low.”

But with Embiid shining, Ben Simmons will be able to change the NBA in revolutionary ways.
