HOW BOUT DEM COWBOYS?!?

The hapless team from Dallas was downed last night at the hands of the Eagles as the Birds scored 30 unanswered points in the second half to cruise to the 37-9 win at AT&T Stadium. Philly moved to 9-1 despite struggling in the first half and losing Jake Elliot to a head injury, after the usually money kicker missed a short field goal attempt early in the game.

Dak Prescott threw three interceptions and also coughed up a fumble as the Eagles defense had a superb outing overall, limiting the Dallas passing game. The Cowboys did run for 112 yards as a team.

By game’s end, it was just Eagles fans:

The win was so convincing that even Skip Bayless was forced to admit defeat:

The Eagles now have the NFC East all but officially clinched and are the clear-cut best team in the NFC, if not the NFL. See how the CB staff saw the game going with the official predictions.

The Roundup:

Around the rest of the NFL, particularly games that matter to the Birds, the LA Rams lost to the Vikings, the Redskins blew a late 15-point lead to the Saints, and the Giants beat the Chiefs in overtime. Yes, you read that correctly.

The Browns somehow managed to lose 19-7 to the Jaguars, even without having one penalty against them.

The Bengals confirmed that they are still the Bengals:

Week 11 wraps up with Falcons-Seahawks on Monday Night Football tonight.

Off the football field, Jameis Winston was accused of sexual misconduct towards an Uber driver. Eagles CB Ronald Darby, former Winston teammate at FSU, spoke out and said he was in that car and defended the Tampa Bay QB. Darby’s statement:

“I felt the need to come forward and clarify some inaccurate accounts of the evening of March 13, 2016 when myself, a friend and Jameis Winston took an Uber ride in Arizona. There were three of us in the car, not just one as has been reported. Myself and Jameis were in the backseat. I am confident that nothing inappropriate in nature happened in the car that evening and Jameis did not have any physical contact with the Uber driver. The accusations are just not true.”

The Eagles’ second half was much like the Sixers first half against the Warriors on Saturday night where Philly was up big on the defending NBA champions, but unfortunately for the Sixers games are 48 minutes long. Golden State stormed back in the final two frames and defeated the Sixers 124-116. A loss that should disappoint everyone after the Sixers scored 47 points in the first quarter.

Kinkead looked at the bench production in his observations:

No Justin Anderson, no Jerryd Bayless, no Nik Stauskas, no Markelle Fultz.

The Sixers got 19 bench points out of Richaun Holmes, T.J. McConnell, and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot last night. Amir Johnson didn’t play.

Brett Brown spoke pregame about the injury situation providing more minutes for TLC, and that turned out to be true, with the Frenchman getting 24 last night. His season high is 25.

TLC finished with 11 points on 5-12 shooting while going 1-5 from three.

In quarters one through three Luwawu-Cabarrot finished 2 for 8. He was 3-3 in the mostly meaningless fourth quarter. So that’s another game where his contributions didn’t mean much contextually.

Again they just get very little off the bench. Golden State ran out 8 bench players for 27 points last night. Philadelphia ran out 8 players total.

The Wells Fargo crowd was rocking in the first half, but was left a little disappointed. However, they did not leave empty-handed, thanks to this guy:

The Warriors got the win, the fans got Chick-Fil-A, but Joel Embiid got the last laugh:

Philly hosts the Jazz tonight at 7pm.

Before the hardwood was laid at Wells Fargo Center, the ice was down for another exhilarating Flyers game. Philly hosted the Flames and fell to the team from Calgary, 5-4 in OT. Our Anthony SanFilippo broke down the fourth straight loss for the Fly Guys:

And although the Flyers – despite losing their fourth consecutive game Saturday, 5-4 in overtime to the Calgary Flames – aren’t technically in last place anymore (thanks to the loser point they are one point better than last place Carolina), they don’t seem to fit any of the three previously described situations.

Instead, theirs seems more stagnant. More epidemic. A more repetitive spin cycle with no clear determination of when it will stop turning.

And although there were positives in the loss to Calgary, like excellent play in 5-on-5, especially over the final two periods, or a really good effort from rookie Nolan Patrick who played arguably his best game as a pro; or scoring from elsewhere beside the top line, as three of the Flyers four goals came without all three Ginger Beard Men on the ice, there were self-inflicted wounds that cost the Flyers another point in the standings.

The Flyers are the downer in the city right now and they snuck their way into Sunday Night Football last night as pre-game it was announced that the Flyers will play the Penguins at Lincoln Financial Field on Feb. 23, 2019.

More current, the Flyers’ Radko Gudas was officially suspended for 10 games after his slashing major penalty against the Jets.

Next up for Philly is a home game against the Canucks on Tuesday night at 7pm.

The Phillies are reportedly still heavily interested in a new first baseman:

It was a boring weekend for college football, a lot of chalk with the match-up. The only exciting element was the elements, with inclement weather wreaking havoc on several games across the country, including Tennessee:

And Wentz’s alma mater, North Dakota State:

UCLA fell to USC on Saturday night in what ended up being the final game as the Bruins head coach for Jim Mora Jr. He was fired on Sunday.

More coaching news could be on the way. Several reports, including from the AP, are surfacing stating that Chip Kelly could become the next head coach at Florida:

The Gators met with Kelly about the vacant job Sunday, according to a person familiar with the situation. The person said athletic director Scott Stricklin and five key staffers met with Kelly in New Hampshire. The person spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because the Gators are not publicly discussing the coaching search.

However, a decision by Kelly may not be so imminent as he reportedly is meeting with UCLA today.

The newest AP Top 25 dropped Sunday, but no changes 1-9. TCU sneaks into 10th. The latest College Football Playoff rankings come out Tuesday night.

Martin Truex Jr. won the 2017 NASCAR championship on Sunday by winning the final race of the season at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

It also was an emotional day at the track for others as Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished 25th and ended his racing career, officially entering retirement. Check out this great video of his final time being introduced at a track as a driver:

Additionally, it was announced over the weekend at Danica Patrick, who crashed out of Sunday’s race, is done as a full-time driver in the NASCAR circuit. She will race the Daytona and Indy 500’s next year and reportedly join the broadcasting ranks as well, according to USA Today:

Representatives for Patrick and NBC have also discussed the of Patrick joining the network in some role, two people familiar with the discussions who are not authorized to talk publicly about the conversations told USA TODAY Sports.

Patrick said that she had no immediate plans for a broadcast career.

“I think we heard I could TV, but right now, no,” Patrick said. “Never say ‘never.'”
