Here they come!

Not the Sixers, ESPN, who will dedicate a full day of coverage to your team, your town, this Friday.

“Philadelphia All Access” will feature Sixers content across all platforms, culminating with the nationally televised home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, a team featuring Steven Adams and a supporting cast of role players.

From the press release:

Philadelphia All Access is an opportunity to document what a day in the life of the Philadelphia 76ers is like from start to finish,” said Mark Gross, ESPN senior vice president, production. “Through unprecedented access, exclusive behind-the-scenes content, one-on-one interviews with Sixers players, coaches and executives, and more, we’re confident that this will be a special day for basketball fans, leading into the Sixers-Thunder matchup Friday night.”

That’s cool. Why not?

The programming includes exclusive interviews with Brett Brown, Bryan Colangelo, and Ben Simmons. Scott O’Neil will be on both The Ryen Russillo Show and Golic and Wingo. A couple of players will be mic’d up during the game along with the coaches, but let’s hope they edit Brett carefully:

Joel Embiid will join Stephen A. Smith live in Philadelphia for First Take. You’ll see footage from shootaround and pre-game rolled into SportsCenter and other shows.

Maybe the most interesting thing is this bullet point:

“An exclusive look inside the training program of Markelle Fultz, as he works toward a return to the court with Todd Wright, Sixers assistant coach and head of strength and conditioning.”

I don’t know if we’ll learn something new, but considering that we know nothing about Fultz’s shoulder, anything is a start.

ESPN has never done this “All Access” NBA program before, so why not? The Sixers are on an untimely losing streak right now, but they’re still a team with national intrigue as they emerge from the “Process” era.
