On the heels of a 7th loss in eight games, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski brings more good news for Sixer fans, with a report that Joel Embiid could be out for five more days.

From the article:

“Despite the likelihood of resting his back for the rest of the week, there’s optimism that Embiid will be fit to return for the Sixers’ game against the Knicks on Monday, league sources said.”

The Sixers host Toronto on Thursday before playing a return game in Canada Saturday evening. Christmas in New York would be Embiid’s first action since playing last Friday in the triple-overtime loss to Oklahoma City.

Joel did not play in the losses against Chicago and Sacramento. He had been dealing with back pain in recent weeks and was held out of the games in Cleveland and New Orleans before returning to put up 34 points in Minnesota.

He appeared to tweak his back in the third quarter of the OKC game and showed some grimacing throughout the 4th quarter and overtime. It was a back injury that limited Embiid in college and caused him to miss the 2014 Big 12 and NCAA tournaments.
