Philly went 2-0 on Christmas Day. The Sixers had a pretty good game. The Eagles…well…they won and clinched home-field advantage!

But it wasn’t good. They won 19-10, but my god was it a terrible game to end your Christmas.

Nick Foles…oh boy was he a trainwreck.

19 of 38 for 163 yards with a touchdown and an interception. His passer rating was a 59.4. Derek Carr wasn’t much better, going 15 of 29 for 140 yards with a touchdown and two picks. His passer rating was a 48.1.

That was one part. The second half was something that came from a game with the 2008 0-16 Lions and this year’s 0-15 (soon to be 0-16) Cleveland Browns. SEVEN TURNOVERS, beginning from the 4:25 mark left in the third quarter:

I didn’t go to the game, but watching that and being in the cold with significant wind? That had to be brutal. Hoping they got plenty of drinks at Xfinity Live afterwards.

It feels like a loss from how the team played. This can’t happen against teams like the Saints or the Vikings in a few weeks.

The Roundup:

The appetizer for last night involved the Sixers, who broke their five-game losing streak with a 105-98 win over the New York Knicks for their first Christmas Day win since 1988. It was a much-needed win by a team that showed signs of being their old selves for most of the month.

Joel Embiid played and led the way with 25 points and 16 rebounds, along with three blocks, and JJ Redick added 24 points of his own, going four-of-eight on three-point field goals.

Although Embiid shined and Knicks center Enes Kanter put up 31 points and 22 rebounds, the MVP of the game was probably TJ McConnell, who had a huge second half. He totaled 15 points on the afternoon, including eight straight at one point, as well as five rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Brett Brown praised his play afterwards:

I love watching JoJo and Ben, but my favorite player is easily TJ McConnell. He’s a gritty player and puts it all out on the court when he plays. No reason not to love him.
