We made it through two weeks of actual storylines and other crap. We’ve made it.

Today’s the day we hopefully win a Super Bowl and a parade down Broad in a few days.

To recap, here’s where the staff stands entering the Super Bowl:

T1: Bob, Tyler (16-2)

3: Chris (15-3)

4: Coggin (14-4)

T5: Kevin, Kyle, Tim (13-5)

8: Phil (12-6)

9: Anthony (8-10) (8-7, according to Anthony)

Our predictions for this week are after the jump:

Phil: Lost in the beatification of Tom Brady and Bill Belichick after Super Bowl LI and the 25-point comeback was this: These Patriots, largely the same group anyway, played like pigs for the first 37 minutes of that game and were getting the hoses turned on them by an Atlanta Falcons team that wasn’t really that good. Even without Carson Wentz, this Eagles team has more difference-makers on both sides of the ball than the Patriots have. Nick Foles can’t possibly play as well in this game as he did against Minnesota. But the Eagles don’t have to beat the Patriots by 31 points. They just have to win. Brady will finish the game…but he’ll be concussed by the fourth quarter and not quite the accurate passer he normally is. This game will end with Foles stooping to conquer, kneeling at midfield as the clock strikes midnight on the Patriots. Eagles 27, Patriots 23.

Bob: I truly believe the Eagles have a more complete and talented roster. If you’ve listened to current players talk about the game this week, most will give props to Brady before talking about just how good the Eagles are. I’m going to roll with the better team. Eagles 26, Patriots 17.

Coggin: Every dynasty comes to an end. Your time is finished, New England. May the Philadelphia Eagles reign be just, but mighty. Fuck the Patriots. Eagles 24, Patriots 21.

Tim: Lost amidst all of the noise about the mismatch between Nick Foles and Tom Brady is the simple fact that Foles does not need to beat Brady. He needs to outduel the Patriots defense, which can be exploited. It’s a well-coached unit, and one that is not often placed in stressful situations, but it’s not elite. Not like the Eagles defense. Are you afraid of Patrick Chung? Eric Rowe? Do you think Bill Belichick, great schemer though he is, can shut down all of the weapons Foles will have at his disposal? I don’t think so. I expect a big game from Nelson Agholor. I also believe Corey Clement and Trey Burton will make decisive plays in this game.

Brady will need to withstand the pressure Fletcher Cox, Timmy Jernigan, and a rotating cast of edge rushers will generate on a regular basis. They’ll try to go no-huddle, limiting the Eagles’ ability to substitute, and the game will be decided on 3rd down. Can the defense get off the field? I think so.
We all have grown sick of Boston and its insufferable citizens. They’ve become the Yankee fans they used to scorn, back when titles seemed out of their reach (with the notable exception of the Celtics). Back when they might have appreciated the rarity of a Super Bowl appearance. Back when they were a little more like Philly fans.

Boston has had its fill of victories. This town is starving for a championship. Get ready to eat on Sunday night, Philly. Eagles 27, Patriots 23.

Anthony: I know there are some people who think it’s good news for the Eagles when I pick against them. And this season that case could be made. I certainly have not done as great a job picking their games as I had in the past. That’s because I never expected the Eagles to be the charmed team. To have all the planets align. To wear the golden slipper at the ball. But here they are. Somehow. Going up against the defending champs. It’s being portrayed as a David vs. Goliath scenario. But it’s not.

These Patriots have actually been the luckiest good team I think I’ve ever seen in pro sports. They aren’t as good as they think they are. Which is why they’re ripe for a takedown. Nick Foles won’t be as good as he was against Minnesota, but he won’t have to be. I think this one is all about the Eagles defense limiting Tom Brady and the offense playing ball control. I like the under in this game, if you are looking for a decent bet. And Philadelphia, brace yourself for the biggest party in this city’s history. Unless, of course, the officials continue to help the Pats as they have all season, then we’ll have something new to bitch about forever. Still, I’m going with the Birds… and I can hear you freaking out about that prediction from here. Eagles 23, Patriots 19.

Chris: See y’all at the damn parade. It’s different this time around. Eagles 27, Patriots 24.

Russ: Eagles 34, Patriots 24.

Tyler: All week I’ve had this feeling of great concern about this game. Not nearly as confident as others. I had this same feeling twice earlier this season. In the days leading up to the Panthers game and again before the Falcons playoff tilt. Both times I doubted the birds and they prevailed. This team has proven to me twice that they win when I didn’t expect them too. This time, I’ll be on the right side. They’ll get it done. It’s the start of one dynasty and the end of another. Eagles 24, Patriots 21.

Kevin K: Eagles 24, Patriots 23.

Kyle: See you at the parade. Eagles 34, Patriots 25.
