We know Carson Wentz is a guy who leans heavily on his faith, having founded the AO1 Foundation with the purpose of “[demonstrating] the love of God by providing opportunities and support for the less fortunate and those in need.” Now, he’ll take center stage at one of the marquee events where politics, business, and faith meet.

According to TMZ Sports, the National Prayer Breakfast has called an audible and brought in the backup quarterback to serve as the Keynote Speaker for the event’s culminating dinner:

The Eagles QB got the call to fill in for Vice President Mike Pence at the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday … since Pence will be in South Korea for the Olympics.

North Dakota Rep. Kevin Cramer told Valley News Live … Wentz will be the keynote speaker at the event — which is usually attended by some pretty powerful politicians and business leaders.

Not familiar with the event? As Inforum points out:

The National Prayer Breakfast, actually an all-day series of meetings and luncheons, is held at the Washington, D.C., Hilton. It is an annual event designed to be a forum where high-powered political, social and business leaders from around the world gather to build relationships.

The main event, the morning breakfast, typically has two speakers, including the president and a mystery guest. Those speakers have previously included Mother Teresa, Bono and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. Every president since Dwight Eisenhower in 1952 has spoken at the morning breakfast.

While Carson is confirmed for the dinner, there’s still no word if “Prince Harry” will be in attendance.

They’ve never been seen in the same room.

Maybe Colin Wilks can write a new verse about Ginger Jesus saving the day yet again:

My only question is how he’s going to get out of Philly and make it to D.C. in time. After all, SEPTA is kind of a mess right now.
