This is one of the more underrated 48-hour stretches on the yearly sports calendar.

High noon kicks off the NFL’s legal tampering period, when teams can begin to discuss potential deals with player agents. Since nothing can be officially locked in until Wednesday at 4 p.m., this two-day time frame features a lot of great nugget drops from “Rap Sheet,” “Schefty,” “Mort Report,” and the like.

Here’s a bit from ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington:

Hmm… culture change you say? I can think of a team that has a really good culture and a great defense.

Not for nothing, but Suh allegedly has high regard for the Eagles. This tidbit dropped in a Sports Illustrated article written about Doug Pederson on January 30th:

When the team practiced against Miami, Dolphins players took note of how fast Eagles players moved from drill to drill. (Former Calvary Baptist player Alex) Lee recalls Ndamukong Suh being so impressed with the team that he approached defensive line coach Chris Wilson with an offer: “Suh told our defensive line coach, ‘The way y’all practice is unbelievable. I don’t care about money at this point—I think I want to play with y’all next year for free,’” Lee says. “Our coach was like, ‘Uhh, can we get that in writing?’” (Suh, through a Dolphins spokesman, denies the incident.)

Denial or not, Suh would be a nice complement to Fletcher Cox, Tim Jernigan.. Brandon Graham…….. Michael Bennett………………….. Derek Barnett…………………………… and… uh…. Chris Long. Yeesh. What a unit.

I highly doubt it happens but, hey, if he wants to play for free, sign him up.

Suh posted a video from Seattle this morning, so maybe he’s actually going there to replace Bennett on the Seahawks’ d-line. Or he could just be doing some offseason training in the Pacific Northwest, where he grew up. Suh is a Portland native and played high school ball there. Guys train all over the country during the winter.
