Somebody emailed Kyle last night and told him that Duke guard Grayson Allen was spotted at Fishtown’s Mad Rex, a post-apocalyptic-themed restaurant.

I don’t know how to describe it; it’s sort of like Mad Max the movie meets Tupac’s “California Love” music video and the servers are all wearing steampunk and/or ripped denim and biker gear. I went there once and had a… “lengthy” experience, but if you wanna check it out like Allen apparently did, go for it:

Turns out he didn’t do a pre-draft workout for the Sixers on Tuesday, but reportedly did one today, according to the Inquirer’s Keith Pompey, who says Bryan Colangelo was there:

Seems awkward.

You can read into Colangelo allegedly being there however you’d like. Some people are flipping out on Twitter, thinking that this means ownership is going to keep him around. In most workplaces, you’re taken off the job or suspended with/without pay while an investigation is going on. I’d think Brett Brown and VPs Ned Cohen and Marc Eversley would be more than capable of handling these workouts until the situation is resolved, so put me in the camp that finds it awfully strange that Colangelo is apparently somehow involved.

As for Allen, he’s projected as a late first round/early second round kind of a guy, a talented shooting guard who was in the news more for disciplinary reasons than his play on the court. He’s been accused of being a dirty player and tripping opponents and trying to injure them, which sometimes then resulted in temper tantrums on the bench. That stuff seemed to subside after his junior year, but there might be some “character issues” that teams would look into when bringing him in for workouts.

He touched on that a bit after visiting the Jazz:

I dunno. JJ Redick was universally hated at Duke. Look at him now, one of the more respected players around the league.
