It’s Eliot Shorr-Parks, who is leaving NJ.com to take up the new gig:

Makes a lot of sense. WIP is the Eagles broadcast partner and they spend 95% of their time talking about the Eagles, so why not have a Birds beat reporter?  97.5 the Fanatic uses Tim McManus in a similar way, or at least they used to brand him as the station’s Eagles reporter. I don’t know if they still call him that, but you know what I mean.

As part of the gig, ESP says he’s joining John Barchard and James Seltzer on the Go Birds podcast, which is the re-branded BGN Radio that no longer features Brandon Lee Gowton.

WIP also has a new website that is fully under their own control, no longer shoehorned into the clunky CBSPhilly.com that additionally hosted channel 3, KYW News Radio, WOGL, WPHT, and whatever else they owned. Basically they have their very own site and don’t have to be lumped in with all of those properties, and I’d assume Eliot’s stories will be posted there daily.

There’s a short blurb on the site about ESP’s hiring:

We are very excited to announce that Eliot Shorr-Parks is joining SportsRadio 94WIP as our first ever Eagles beat writer.

ESP will deliver content for 94WIP in a variety of ways, primarily digitally, but also on-air. ESP will be writing content for the Go Birds portion of 94WIP.com and will also be a member of the Go Birds Podcast.

His departure from NJ.com leaves Zack Rosenblatt as the site’s Eagles contributor. Matt Lombardo, whom Rosenblatt replaced, is now covering the New York Giants.
