Three games doesn’t seem like a lot, but if the Phillies continue to lose two of three to their opponents, then it can feel like a lot.

And it happened again this weekend in Toronto with the Phils dropping two of three to the Blue Jays. It began on Friday with a 4-2 loss thanks to homers by Kendrys Morales and Billy McKinney. Jake Arrieta went six innings but gave up all four runs off six hits and three walks despite five strikeouts. The offense couldn’t do a ton.

But Saturday was a pretty bad loss. They were up 6-3 heading into the bottom of the seventh. McKinney had yet another home run to make it a one-run game against Nick Pivetta, who had a decent start. But in the next inning, Seranthony Dominguez continued to collapse, giving up a bases-clearing double to put Toronto on top with an eventual 8-6 win for the Jays. The Phils were 58-7 when taking a lead into the eighth.

But the team did come back yesterday afternoon, thanks to four home runs from Rhys Hoskins, Carlos Santana, Maikel Franco, and Wilson Ramos for an 8-3 win. Ramos also delivered with three more hits and three RBIs.

Despite his success, Ramos has said he still isn’t 100%. Roman Quinn also suffered a hamstring tweak, but it’s said to not be serious. He could return tonight when the Phils open up a three-game series at home against the Nationals at 7:05 PM on NBC Sports Philadelphia. Zach Eflin will take the mound. Tomorrow will feature a rematch of Thursday’s outstanding pitching duel between Aaron Nola and Max Scherzer.

Down on the farm, J.P. Crawford delivered a walk-off hit for the IronPigs to give them their first International League North championship.

The Roundup:

The Eagles returned to practice on Saturday after a 5-0 loss to the Browns in their dress rehearsal preseason game, where we all saw how streaky Nick Foles can be.

The Birds did make some roster moves, with linebacker Corey Nelson being cut as the most notable. That will probably save the Eagles a future draft pick.

As for other players such as Markus Wheaton and Jordan Mailata, this is the week where practice and playing well will be very important and it makes or breaks a chance to crack the 53-man roster. Wheaton, along with Donnel Pumphrey, Nelson Agholor, and Corey Clement, returned to practice this weekend.

Doug Pederson has had it with reporters asking him about Carson Wentz’s status. No new update was given and the quarterback will be evaluated day-by-day and will be cleared when doctors give him the okay.

Peter King doesn’t think Wentz will be ready for Week 1.

Would you, despite how good and mobile Wentz looks in videos like the one you see here, hustle to get him ready to have his first contact in nine months against a Falcons team capable of generating significant pressure in the opening game of the NFL season?

I sure wouldn’t. And I doubt the Eagles will, despite this fairly alarming stat: In 14 preseason drives by the first-team offense (albeit with some starters missing), the formerly explosive Eagles have zero touchdowns.

Albert Breer has heard Chance Warmack as an offensive line that could be traded.

With that backdrop, I’ll repeat what was in this space last week: Offensive linemen are the hottest commodity out there on the market, making it good to be a team with any sort of depth up front. You could see it in what the Bills put in front of Allen on Sunday, and what Josh Rosen has had to operate in front of in Arizona. The league just doesn’t have enough of the big guys.

Who could be moved? Colts OT Austin Howard, Raiders OT Jylan Ware, Eagles OG Chance Warmack and Bears C Hroniss Grasu were among the names I’ve heard as available, with Howard and Warmack carrying extensive starting experience.

Earlier in the week, Pederson mentioned that Trey Burton airmailed the Philly Special pass early on in practice.

There’s still time to get tickets to the season opener against Atlanta, which is less than two weeks away!

The Sixers continued their Shore Tour in Stone Harbor. Kevin caught up with Landry Shamet, Jonah Bolden, and Julius Erving.

Ben Simmons continues to put in work and showed off his jumper.

Alex Lyon has a new goalie mask:

The Union continued their winning ways with a 1-0 win over the New England Revolution. Cory Burke scored the game-winner in the second half.
