Week 6 is upon us, and there’s a diverse range of betting options in New Jersey. FanDuel Sportsbook and BetStars, in particular, are offering strong promos. A part of any betting strategy that often gets overlooked is the value being offered by the books, whether that’s straight price or promos and incentives that can be used to your advantage.

Here’s a rundown of the best NJ online sportsbooks and most compelling offers for Week 6:

Easiest deposit methods

SugarHouse Sportsbook doesn’t get nearly the same attention as DraftKings or FanDuel, but they are the sleeper thus far, partly due to their operating as an online casino for several years. The PlaySugarHouse Casino app, now branded as SugarHouse Sportsbook and Casino, benefits from having ironed out the kinks, particularly when it comes to deposit methods. If you can think of the method, you can probably do it at SugarHouse, including depositing in person at 7-11, which is crazy.

Additionally, their $250 deposit bonus has the fewest strings attached to it– you simply have to wager it once and then it can be withdrawn.

Their app is backed by Kambi, which means they offer almost entirely the same odds as DraftKings and 888, with the benefit of having other casino games built into the app.

To get your $250 deposit bonus, you can sign up for SugarHouse and download their Android and iOS apps here.

Best promotions

This is a tie. FanDuel offers only a $100 deposit bonus, which is meager compared to its competitors, but they offer genuinely useful weekly promos.

This week they’re offering NFL “Close Loss” insurance, which will refund any moneyline bet up to $50 if the team you choose loses by six points or less. That’s outstanding! Depending on which side of the line you’re playing, that either gives you 6+ points of buffer on a favorite, or significantly better odds on an underdog. There’s a little bit of fine print – you have to use the bonus before it can be withdrawn – but this is an excellent and fair promo. There’s really no reason not to try it, especially if you feel strongly about a particular outright winner.

They’re also offering a similar promo on MLB playoff games.

You can access these offers by registering for FanDuel here.

BetStars, on the other hand, offers $500 in free bets (fine print, of course) and a range of rotating promos. Such as:

Bet $25 and get a free $5 bet— pretty straightforward, available every week

NFL 2 Minute Drill— if you place any NFL moneyline bet and your team is leading with two minutes to go and loses, you’ll get a refund up to $20

Super Boost— get a boost on football 3-bet parlays

Stars Stack— better odds on multiple players scoring touchdowns

Lock in Your Profits— similar to DraftKings, you have the option to cash out of live bets, which has been popular and adds a whole new dimension to betting

Spin and Bet— spin the wheel to get up to a 10x odds boost

These offers are bit a more random and probably don’t offer the sort of action you’d normally bet on, they can be a lot of fun and provide some value just about every day.

We also really like BetStars’ app. It’s not as slick or modern looking as DraftKings or FanDuel, but it just works and is simple to understand. We find BetStars often has pretty appealing odds as well.

You can download the BetStars app here. It is available on Android and, soon, iOS. The iOS app is set to launch on Sunday, so depending on when you read this it may or may not be available. The good news is that, for now, their sportsbook is housed inside the PokerStars app on iOS.

The popular one

DraftKings is the biggest brand and the sportsbook most of your friends are probably playing. While they don’t offer the most enticing promo – they’ll match your first bet up to $200 – there’s no doubt it’s one of the best and more user friendly apps out there.

What we really like is their cash out option, which allows you to exit any bet you’re winning or losing at a reduced rate. It adds an extra layer of strategy to things, though be careful about hedging your winning bets– you’ll be tempted to work against yourself, so use this judiciously.

To get your first bet matched up to $200, you can sign up for DraftKings here.

888sport, while not having the most confidence-inspiring name for a US brand, is backed by the same provider as DraftKings and SugarHouse, Kambi, so the action is the same and they offer a free $10 bet with no deposit needed.

To get your $10 free bet, you can sign up for 888sport here.
