Golden Tate was introduced as a member of the Eagles yesterday. And he had a pretty long introductory press conference.

Tate went in-depth about how he’s had really strong legs since high school, which helps him get yards after the catch. But he also discussed the his time as an outside “Z” receiver as well as his recent role as a slot guy. He thinks he can run every route in the route tree as well.

So that brings up the biggest question regarding his acquisition. Where do the Eagles see him? I’d think he’s going to be on the outside with Agholor already in the slot. And Nelly looks pretty solid in that position.

He’s got over a week to learn the playbook before the Birds play again, so it’ll be interesting which plays he knows and where he’s being used. He also said he wants to stay for longer than eight games, for what it’s worth.

Meanwhile, Jalen Mills is week-to-week with the foot sprain he suffered in London.

The Roundup:

The Sixers return to action tonight to host the Los Angeles Clippers. Tip-off is at 7 PM on NBC Sports Philadelphia. They hope to improve on their “C-plus basketball after their big loss to the Raptors.

I’ve been doing this too long to not recognize that it’s the NBA, and you can say any team is coming in and I would have said ‘Wow. We got our work cut out for us,'” coach Brett Brown said. “And we do. Right now, we are playing C-plus basketball. That’s a fact. And we’ll do as we’ve always done.”

Aside from their 10-72 campaign three seasons ago, the Sixers have shown some improvement throughout the season during Brown’s tenure as coach.

They had an identical record through eight games last season. And later in the season (Dec. 31, 2017), they fell two games under .500  at 17-19.  But their fate changed after signing Marco Belinelli and Ersan Ilyasova to free-agent contracts through the end of that season in February.

The Sixers are expected to make a push to acquire four-time NBA All-Star Jimmy Butler via a trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to a report in the New York Times.

Speaking of Butler, despite the Sixers still being thrown in as a team that has interest in the shooting guard, Philly Voice’s Kyle Neubeck says the team is still lukewarm about him.

The Sixers officially exercised rookie contract options for Ben Simmons, Markelle Fultz, and Dario Saric. One name that didn’t have his option exercised was Furkan Korkmaz, who said he wants to be traded due to lack of playing time.

Elsewhere, Jonah Bolden was assigned to the Delaware Blue Coats of the G-League. Is Wilson Chandler coming?

Speaking of the Blue Coats, here are their new jerseys.

The Flyers resume their west coast swing tonight as they travel to LA to take on the Kings, who don’t have Jonathan Quick. Puck drop is at 10:30 PM on NBC Sports Philadelphia +.

Is it safe to trust Brian Elliott again after his performance against the Ducks? It’s one game, so the jury should still be out.

Travis Sanheim has been one of the team’s bright spots so far this season:

The second-year player is among the least culpable. Of course he’s also logging the minutes of a third-line defenseman — a little more than 16 minutes per game, less than four other Flyers defensemen.

“Everybody is a little different as to what they can handle,” Hakstol said. “We don’t want the weight of the world on Travis’s shoulders. Just a clear expectation as to the level of play that he’s able to bring and how much he’s able to help our team and to bring that every single time he’s on the ice.”

Still, his current partner, Radko Gudas,  whose rocky finish to last season — culminating in a mistake-filled Game 6 against Pittsburgh — left him clearly in disfavor among Flyers fans, is playing confidently again and leads all Flyers defensemen with a plus-4.

The Union fell to NYCFC for the second time in under a week in a 3-1 match in the MLS Cup Knockout Round. Their season is done.

The “Macquarie Court at the Palestra” is a damn shame.

After the Eagles won the Super Bowl, there’s no reason to keep having Wing Bowl.

In other sports news, Derrick Rose dropped a career-high 50 points for the Timberwolves, who were without Jimmy Butler.

Speaking of Butler, is he sitting out so that he can be traded or is he just resting?
