Good news and bad news for the Sixers.

Bad news: Mike Muscala has a broken nose.

Good news: The Sixers got a huge win over the Pacers, 100-94, their first road win of the season. Everything nearly went right in the win.

Ben Simmons had a near triple-double, going for 16 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. Joel Embiid had a double-double with 20 and 10, and Dario Saric had a great night with 18 points and seven rebounds. He also went 4-of-6 from three.

Markelle Fultz went 3-of-7 and scored seven points, but he contributed defensively with a career-high four steals, and rookie Landry Shamet continues to look comfortable in the rotation with 12 points. The win will definitely help the team’s confidence that they might not have had early on. The big question is whether or not they can keep that going.

It was also the team’s first win in Indy since the end of the 2012-13 season, before Brett Brown was the head coach of the Sixers.

The team returns home tomorrow night when they host the Hornets at 7 PM.

Doug Pederson expresses more about his love of ice cream.

“When we were at the Super Bowl this year, my wife and I were out there all week, I come back from our practice and I noticed there were two big cases, just brown boxes, in our room.

“I opened the first one up, there was just a styrofoam ice chest-looking box inside the big box. I open it up, it’s eight cartons of ice cream. And it’s two of these (boxes) now, so 16 cartons of all different flavors. Neapolitan, vanilla bean, chocolate chip mint, all kinds.

“I had to figure out a way not just to not eat it, but to get it back to Philadelphia. So, yeah, it got into the hotel freezer, and then we shipped it, overnighted it, back here to Philadelphia, here to my house. I’ve got a couple freezers at the house so I made room, put the ice cream in there.

“And now, every time my wife and I get invited to somebody’s house for dinner, we bring dessert. We bring ice cream. It’s a great way of getting it out of the house, so I don’t have to eat it.”
