What a day in Philly sports.

I guess we’ll go in chronological order. It began late in the morning when news first came out that Carson Wentz might not play this week against the Rams due to back problems. It sucks that it happened but honestly with how the Eagles have been, it might be fine in the short-term. Long-term, it’s a concern when your franchise quarterback is hurt yet again. Nick Foles could start the game and perhaps the rest of the season.

Shortly after, Buster Olney posted a story that mentioned a possible Phillies offseason doomsday that honestly wouldn’t be that surprising considering we’re Philadelphia:

This also isn’t good:

Fast forward to later in the night. It was the Sixers’ turn to let the city down, and they did it against the Nets. Despite Joel Embiid’s 33 points and 17 rebounds, Spencer Dinwiddie scored 39 points in a three-point win over the Jimmy Butler-less Sixers.

Finally, to cap off the night, the Flyers choked away a two-goal lead to Calgary in the final 1:08 of regulation to force overtime. Johnny Gaudreau scored 35 seconds into the extra session to give the Flames the victory. If you can do math, Calgary score three goals in a span of 1:43. The Flyers are still the same team we know.

A great day if you ask me. For Villanova fans, you can add Jahvon Quinerly not being happy with Jay Wright.
