The unthinkable happened.

The Philadelphia Flyers won a hockey game. My goodness. They defeated the Dallas Stars 2-1 thanks to goals from Travis Konecny and James van Riemsdyk. Carter Hart stopped 37 shots in the win, his first since December 20.

But it wouldn’t have been a Flyers game without the opposing team making things interesting late. And that’s what Jamie Benn did with about three minutes left in the game. Luckily, that was the only goal they would score.

The Flyers stopped an eight-game losing skid for their first win in 2019 and their first win since the December 23 shootout win against the Rangers. No wonder why the team is giving out free tickets.

Up next for the Flyers is a visit to Newark to take on the New Jersey Devils. Puck drop is Saturday afternoon at 1 PM.
