Let’s get it back to the Eagles.

Nothing new today with the Nick Foles “tag or no tag” situation, but this popped up in relation to the Le’Veon Bell saga:

Too much money, I’d say.

The Eagles definitely need a running back, but you’re not putting 50 million dollars into two years of Le’Veon Bell, not unless he gives you years 3 and 4 for 10 cents each.

It’s true that he’s fresh, having not played in 2018, but five years is a lot of RB mileage in the contemporary NFL. Bell logged 1200+ carries over the five seasons he did play while catching 300 passes. If you’re looking for a one-two punch instead of a workhorse type of back, maybe you take a glance at Tevin Coleman, Mike Davis, or T.J. Yeldon in free agency, then supplement the position in the draft and see how it plays out in training camp.

Or, do you gamble on the previously injured Darren Sproles or Jay Ajayi or Spencer Ware? The Eagles like to spread the ball, and even though Bell is a fantastic pass catcher, I don’t know how much of the rock there is to go around when you consider targets for Zach Ertz, Alshon Jeffery, and whoever ends up being the WR2 and WR3 next year.
