Bracket in trash? No worry. DraftKings Sportsbook is running a second-chance bracket for the Sweet 16 open to all New Jersey users.

A second chance bracket

DraftKings is allowing you to build a brand new bracket starting with the regionals of the NCAA Tournament.

Here are all the details for the Super Sweet 16 Bracket:

  • $25k in prizes
  • $2,500 top prize
  • $20 entry fee

New DraftKings users get bet insurance on Sweet 16 games along with a $500 first bet match. You can sign up for DraftKings here.

You have to enter all of your picks by Thursday at 7:09 p.m. before the first Sweet 16 game between Gonzaga and Florida State tips off.

How to play

Simply select the winners from each of the remaining games and fill out your bracket for the rest of the tournament as you would normally.

The second chance bracket challenge is part of the DraftKings Pools section of the app where you are ranked against other players– this most closely simulates daily fantasy.

The contest is only available to those in New Jersey, but there is also a free contest open to all (you can import your picks from the paid contest to the free one).

The DraftKings second chance bracket can only be played on the iOS or Android app for DraftKings Sportsbook.

A new world

This sort of mid-tournament game is the daily fantasy-ization of the bracket challenge. Now all those people with torn up brackets (though probably fewer this year because it’s mostly been chalk that’s won) can start over for as the tournament moves it.

This removes some of the allure of the traditional bracket (think of it as season-long fantasy) and gives you an easy out, hedge, or double down on your original.

This type of contest is sure to be popular even if the prizes are smaller than that of the original offers, which for DraftKings was $64,000.
