The Sixers may have won on Tuesday night, but their performance was, I guess you could say, extra sloppy. They will look to clean things up tonight and make it three wins in a row as they continue to jockey for playoff position over the regular season’s final weeks. Here’s everything you need to know about betting on the game, including Kings-Sixers odds.

Betting odds and action

The Sixers opened between a 9.5 and 10-point favorite at NJ sports betting sites, including DraftKings and FanDuel. As of Friday morning, 54% of total spread bets and 79% of the spread money backs the Sixers.

TV and radio schedule

The game will be broadcast locally on NBC Sports Philadelphia in Philly and NBC Sports California in Sacramento. To listen on the radio, tune to 97.5 The Fanatic in Philly and KHTK Sports 1140 AM in Sacramento.

The big story

The Sixers failed to put away a horrendous Cavs team until the final minute on Tuesday night, mostly sleepwalking their way through a 106-99 win. Maybe the 22 turnovers had something to do with it. Anyway, Jimmy Butler is expected back after resting in that one. Ben Simmons missed practice on Thursday with an upper respiratory issue, but he’s expected to play. Meanwhile, Philadelphia will try to take advantage of a decent Kings squad that has struggled lately. Sacramento is 3-7 over its last 10 games and has lost three of its last four, putting its faint playoff hopes on life support. The Kings trail the Clippers by five games for the Western Conference’s No. 8 seed with only 15 games left to play. They need to get hot and they need to get hot right now.

Against the spread info to know

The Sixers are a mediocre 32-36 ATS while the Kings have been the league’s second-best team against the number with a 39-26-2 record. Philadelphia is 19-17 ATS at Wells Fargo Center this season, going 18-17 ATS as a home favorite. The Kings, meanwhile, are 17-16 ATS on the road, but only a lackluster 11-15 ATS as a road dog. Another situational trend working against the Kings is that this will be their second game in as many nights. They’re only 2-9 ATS this season with no rest. Additionally, the Sixers are 8-3 ATS this season when favored at home between 7-12 points and are 5-2 ATS when favored between 7-11 points.

Those looking to back the underdog can find comfort in the Kings’ strong 17-7-2 ATS mark against Eastern Conference teams this season, along with their excellent 21-11-1 ATS mark after a loss. It’s also worth noting the Sixers are only 16-26 ATS after a win.

In terms of the total, there are some strong trends leaning toward the under. It’s 7-4 in games when the Kings play on no rest and 19-7 when they play an Eastern Conference team. The under is also 18-15 in games after a Kings’ loss. On the Sixers’ end, the under is 12-5 when they play on 2-3 days rest and 16-11 against Western Conference teams. The Sixers have also played to the under in 8 straight games and in 9 of their last 10 overall.

The Pick

Despite a strong number at New Jersey sports betting sites there are some reasons I like the Sixers tonight. The Kings’ atrocious 2-9 ATS mark without rest, including eight-straight losses, is a huge red flag. They’re slumping lately, and after the Sixers’ gross performance Tuesday night, this feels like the night they run it up a bit against a scuffling opponent. Sacramento is only 1-3-1 ATS over its last five games and 2-5 ATS over its last seven trips to the Wells Fargo Center. My one concern about playing the Sixers tonight is that it’s a potential look-ahead spot with a Sunday national game against the Bucks looming.

I’ve been dying to take the over in a Sixers game simply because it’s due to hit, but I can’t do it in this spot. Both teams’ recent and long-term performance suggests an under tonight, so I’m staying off the total altogether and just rolling with Philly. Lightly.
