Bryce Harper is coming.

He’ll play his first game as a Phillie tomorrow as the Phils take on the Blue Jays in Florida. For the second straight day, he hit a home run in a simulated game. He’s ready.

Bryce has already been introduced to the Philly media and gone through the introductory interview gauntlet with The Fanatic being his recent stop. What he said previously he said again, and is now looking at places in and around Philadelphia. Haddonfield is the only location that’s not near Center City.

The Phillies are now the bad boys in baseball. Harper doesn’t need you asking him about backtracking on Mike Trout comments. He’s good. Trout’s gonna come to Philly anyways.

Meanwhile, MLB is now requiring teams to submit their lineups to the commissioner’s office for betting purposes before releasing them publicly.

The Roundup:

The Sixers won’t be with Joel Embiid tonight as they take on the Houston Rockets. Tip-off is at 8 PM on NBC Sports Philadelphia and ESPN.

Fun fact: When the Sixers lose, there’s always someone to be blamed for the defeat. Usually it’s been Brett Brown. But for the most part, it’s everyone that should be blamed for the loss, including Wednesday night.

So, are you really enjoying this Sixers’ season?

Pro Football Focus on ESPN+ (what used to be ESPN Insider) says the Eagles have to sign Ryan Fitzpatrick during free agency:

Philadelphia Eagles: QB Ryan Fitzpatrick

2018 team: Buccaneers | Age: 36

Fitzpatrick started the 2018 season in a magical way, earning 96-plus overall grades in each of the first two weeks. His gunslinger mentality paid off early, but his magic fizzled later in the season. However, he still did enough to earn an overall grade of 84.4, which ranked 10th out of 39 qualifying quarterbacks last season. When kept clean, Fitzpatrick completed 121 of 172 attempts for 1,824 yards, nine touchdowns, five interceptions and a passer rating of 110.2, ranking 10th in the NFL. Fitzpatrick is 36 and would merely be an insurance policy in case Carson Wentz gets injured again.
