I can’t believe the Flyers are still in the playoff hunt.

They got even closer last night thanks to a 3-2 win over the lowly Ottawa Senators. Oskar Lindblom, Michael Raffl, and Scott Laughton scored all of Philadelphia’s three goals in the second period. Brian Elliott stopped 20 of 22 shots and held off a late Senators rally. Carter Hart was the backup for the game.

The race for the first wild card got a little tough with Carolina and Pittsburgh now four points up on the second wild card team. But the Flyers are now three points away from a playoff spot:

The Flyers have a tough 13 games to end their season. 12 of them are against teams that are in or around playoff contention, while the other is the Rangers. Chicago is in a similar boat with the Flyers in terms of being on the outside but looking to get in.

Philly’s first game in that stretch of 13 is home against Washington on Thursday. It’ll be the second game of Jake Voracek’s suspension, unless his appeal makes him eligible to play then.

The Roundup:

Legal tampering began in the NFL, and the Eagles were very involved.

Technically, the Eagles made one unofficial free agent signing by bringing in Malik Jackson. A good replacement for Tim Jernigan. But the most popular move of the day was the return of DeSean Jackson. He’s going to be a damn good deep threat for the Eagles and Carson Wentz.

The Birds also continued to keep some of their own by inking Jason Peters to a one-year deal and placing a second-round tender on Nate Sudfeld.

Elsewhere, Stefen Wisniewski won’t have his option picked up and Nick Foles will sign with Jacksonville for a ton of money.

Bryce Harper played right field for the first time as a Phillie in an 8-2 loss to the Rays. He struck out and walked. Andrew McCutchen and Jean Segura hit back-to-back homers.

Harper has brought in ratings and is also going to have a catch with Mac.

As for the guy that Mac used to write to, Chase Utley’s getting his own bobblehead for his retirement ceremony.

Joel Embiid returned from being sidelined for over two weeks with a huge performance Sunday in a 106-89 win over the Pacers. He also said the communication between the front office and medical staff is much better.

The Sixers host Cleveland tonight at 7 PM on NBC Sports Philadelphia. Boban Marjanovic will return, while Jimmy Butler will sit to rest.

Bobi’s sidekick, Tobias Harris, previously identified Philly as a destination before the trade to the Sixers.

Kendall Jenner has a personalized Sixers jersey.

In other sports news, Russell Westbrook threatened a fan and his wife in Utah.

Conor McGregor was arrested and then released on bail in Miami Beach.

Wofford and Iona punched their tickets to the NCAA Tournament.

Landon Collins, Tyrann Mathieu, and CJ Mosley all signed with new teams.

Tony Bruno and Harry Mayes are reuniting.

In the news, could a Philly-to-Pittsburgh hyperloop be possible?

R Kelly says his “spirit” told him to talk to Gayle King and thus embarrass himself on national TV.
