Sure the Sixers played, but last night was pretty freaking crazy in the NFL.

It took until a little after midnight, but Le’Veon Bell made his decision to sign with the New York Jets. It’s for four years and $52.5 million, with $35 million guaranteed. That’s less than the Steelers offered him. Which meant the market he expected never really materialized.

The Ravens, who were rumored to also be interested along with the Jets, never made an offer. There you go.

Adam Schefter broke it on the Scott Van Pelt Sportscenter and it was unreal:

Gotta love live TV.

In the other big move of the night, the Giants for some reason traded Odell Beckham Jr. to the Browns for a first and a third-round pick, and safety Jabrill Peppers. Their own fans hate the team. I don’t blame them. Dave Gettleman is dumb.

More football later.

The Roundup:

The other big story for Philadelphians is the Sixers holding off the feisty Cavaliers late for a 106-99 win after spending the previous night at their annual Youth Foundation Gala.

Ben Simmons had a near triple-double with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. Joel Embiid finished with a double-double of 17 points and 19 rebounds. The team was without Jimmy Butler (James Ennis got the start), but Boban Marjanovic returned to be the backup center and finished with 11 points and five rebounds to go with a block.

First-round pick Zhaire Smith was surprisingly made available for the game, but did not log any minutes. We’ll see if he continues to be available and maybe play in the next few weeks.

Sixers host the Kings Friday night in Nemanja Bjelica’s unceremonious return to Philadelphia.

Back to football. The Eagles will lose a key leader on the defense as Jordan Hicks will head to Arizona on a 4-year, $36 million deal.

As for their new old Eagle, DeSean Jackson arrived in Philly last night. I think his Instagram Live video began a little after the OBJ trade news broke. But the return of Jaccpot addresses a huge need for the Birds’ offense.

Before he left for Philly, he was playing Madden with him on the Eagles. He had a pretty good game.

Not surprising, but Stefen Wisniewski is “sad” to leave the Eagles.

And a Nelson Agholor update.

The Flyers don’t play until tomorrow when they host the Capitals. Carter Hart will be making his first start in about three weeks.

A brand new Snow the Goalie episode just dropped. Make sure you listen before Thursday’s big game.
