Bryce Harper has sucked at batting recently.

He’s had 19 games with multiple strikeouts, the most out of any batter in Major League Baseball, and was the only Phillies position player who didn’t record a hit. But he made a huge impact in last night’s game:

That catch would matter. Because in the bottom half of the inning, J.T. Realmuto and Odubel Herrera each had RBI doubles (Herrera drove in two runs) to give the Phillies the eventual 7-4 win. Herrera and Cesar Hernandez each had two RBIs in the win, with the latter tying the game up at four in the fifth on a two-run homer.

Harper wasn’t the only star that struggled. Aaron Nola yet again had another poor start. Nola went three innings and gave up three runs on five hits with three strikeouts and three walks. He threw 84 pitches in those three innings. That ain’t good for your star ace. We thought he may have turned the corner in his last start against St. Louis, but that might not be the case.

The four-game series continues tonight at 7:05 PM on NBC Sports Philadelphia. Jerad Eickhoff takes the mound against Brandon Woodruff.

A couple of pods to start you day. We have brand new editions of the Crossing Broadcast as well as Crossing Broad FC.

Now to the Sixers, who held their end-of-season media availability yesterday after Sunday night’s heartbreaking loss to the Raptors, which may have been caused by Drake?

Despite rumors of him being canned, Brett Brown is staying with the Sixers for next season. So there’s that.

Joel Embiid cares about how he does and how the team performs. He’s got to improve for next season.

Chris Broussard thinks the Rockets should deal Chris Paul for Ben Simmons. Lol.

Finally, my favorite part from yesterday’s media availability.

The Eagles officially announced the return of Stefen Wisniewski as well as the signing of Cody Kessler. Great stuff. Luis Perez is gone by the way. He was the former AAF quarterback and struggled during rookie minicamp.

In other sports news, the Blues defeated the Sharks in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals to even the series at one game apiece.

The A’s are one step closer to getting a new stadium in Oakland.

The NBA Draft Lottery is tonight.
