Bryce Harper was booed at home. Unlike Opening Day, this was more justified.

The right fielder went 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts and the Phillies mustered only one run on four hits via a Rhys Hoskins RBI single in a 3-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers. He also missed an easy catch in the top of the eighth.

After the game, Harper said he would’ve done the same thing.

“I’d do the same thing…It’s not fun to lose, it’s not fun to watch when you’re playing that way. [I was] 0-for-4 with two punchies, I’m probably thinking the same thing walking back to the dugout.”

Maikel Franco went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts as both hitters contributed to half of the Phils’ strikeout total.

The offense was bad and so was the starting pitching. Vince Velasquez struck out seven batters. That’s good. But he did it in 3 2/3 innings and gave up three runs on six hits with three walks in 99 total pitches. That’s not good at all.

Ever since starting the season 4-0, the Phils have gone a not-so-good 12-13. One reason is an inordinate amount of injuries that may soon be resolved. Odubel Herrera is close to coming back.

Speaking of struggling, tonight’s starting pitcher looks to break out of his slump. Aaron Nola and his 5.68 ERA takes the mound against Daniel Morris in the final game of their two-game series at 7:05 PM on NBC Sports Philadelphia. And while Nola will look to break out of his slump, Nick Pivetta looks to come back to the big club and fix his problems.

Before the game, make sure you listen to the latest editions of Crossed Up and the Crossing Broadcast for all your Philly sports needs.

Meanwhile, Nets forward Jared Dudley wishes he chose different words when he said Ben Simmons was “average.”

Q: You took a lot of heat in the playoffs for describing Ben Simmons as an “average” player in the half-court game. Any regrets?

DUDLEY: I do wish I chose different words. I was breaking down how we were going to guard him — how you try to limit someone like Ben Simmons. I was just trying to say that we would have our best success if we could get him in a half-court game.

Should I have used the word “average?” Looking back on it, no. It was such a negative reaction after I said it that no one heard I also said he was elite in transition and an elite passer. But, you know, it happens. It’s the playoffs. And I understand the reaction. I understand how it goes.

Q: Did anyone with the Nets ask you to tone it down after that?

DUDLEY: When it came to the front office, no one said anything about toning it down. It was not intended to be said in a disrespectful manner. And I think I’ve earned that right in my 12 years. I’m not saying stuff to say stuff.
