It was a pretty good day for the Eagles. First off, Doug Pederson cancelled their final OTA practice and took the team bowling instead.

Then, Carson Wentz signed a really big contract extension. According to Adam Schefter, it’s for four years and worth $128 million. $107.9 million is guaranteed and $66 million is due at signing. That can be maxed out to $144 million based on incentives. His total deal is now six years for $154 million, which can go up as high as $170 million.

It’s not a surprise Howie Roseman and Jeffrey Lurie wanted to keep him in Philly for the long-term despite the recent injury concerns. That’s a huge deal, but that’s what quarterbacks are getting. Russell Wilson signed a four-year, $140 million extension with $107 million guaranteed.

But unlike Wilson, who tweeted out a video in the early morning hours with Ciara in bed, Wentz tweeted out a video of himself at NovaCare thanking fans. You may judge that part however you want:

So cool, Wentz is an Eagle. He can get to know how to pronounce JJ Arcega-Whiteside’s name correctly.

His deal is done. Malcolm Jenkins is probably next. And who knows what Joe Douglas is gonna do.
