Phillies and Nationals were rained out last night. They’ll make that up tomorrow with a day-night doubleheader. Jake Arrieta and Patrick Corbin are still on the mound tonight, with first pitch at 7:05 PM on NBC Sports Philadelphia.

But looking ahead, the Phillies still have reasonable chances to make the playoffs. Baseball Prospectus and FiveThirtyEight think the Phils have just above a 50% chance of making the postseason, but just less than 30% to win the division. Atlanta has better odds on both ends, for obvious reasons.

Just because the team lost 15-1 on Sunday doesn’t mean the season is toast. There are definitely still some problems to be solved and questions to be answered, such as injuries and starting pitching (Jerad Eickhoff is part of both as he’s now on the injured list).

As for the near future, Odubel Herrera’s leave has been extended to July 1 as he waived his arraignment appearance via his attorney. And for the long-distance future, Mickey Moniak made a nice catch! Good for him!

With the NBA Draft coming up on Thursday, who could be some players the Sixers should target for depth in the draft and free agency?

From the Inquirer:

DRAFT

1. Matisse Thybulle, guard-forward, 6-5, Washington

Thybulle’s name has been linked to the Sixers by many news outlets. The reason the Sixers would want Thybulle is simple: defense. The senior out of Washington has incredibly quick hands with undeniable instincts both on and off the ball. If Thybulle is around when the Sixers pick at No. 24, it would be hard for them to pass on someone as athletic and hard-nosed.

3. George Hill, guard, 6-3

The Bucks have some tough financial decisions of their own this offseason, and though Hill is under contract through next season, only $1 million of his $18 million price tag is guaranteed. If the Bucks decide to waive Hill, he would be a solid two-way guard to add to the Sixers bench. Although the veteran is 33 years old, he proved that he has more left during Milwaukee’s recent playoff run and can contribute on the big stage. Hill shot 41.7 percent from three during the playoffs.

Could Ersan Ilyasova be an option? He could, but probably best to not pursue him.

The Flyers are also approaching draft day. They hold the 11th overall pick in Friday’s NHL Draft. Who could they pick?

The Rangers traded for Winnipeg Jets defenseman Jacob Trouba last night, which isn’t good for the Flyers. Long-shot target Erik Karlsson re-signed with the Sharks.
