Let me start out with the following: Hector Neris sucks. I’m not a fan of him. I thought he turned a corner late last season, but that has not appeared to be the case. Sorry.

Anyways, it looked like the Phillies were going to blow a one-run lead after a 22 minute rain delay. The Phils led 6-1 after the bottom of the 2nd, but the Dodgers accumulated runs for the rest of the game until being down just one entering the ninth.

That’s when Max Muncy hit a three-run homer to give LA a two-run advantage. And in what felt like something from Major League, Neris hit David Freese with a pitch and was ejected. So was Gabe Kapler one night after Yacksel Rios was tossed.

But there was optimism in the bottom half of the inning. Andrew Knapp pinch hit again, and got a double. Incredible. Cesar Hernandez singled and Scott Kingery brought home Knapp on an RBI single. It was a one-run game for Bryce Harper, who for the first time as a Phillie, walked things off.

An unreal ending and a pretty damn wild game if you ask me. Could it help jolt the struggling Phillies toward a playoff spot? With two weeks left, will Matt Klentak or John Middleton make any big moves to help this team? Klentak and Andy MacPhail reportedly got three-year extensions as well, per The Athletic.

We shall see. But for the time being, the two teams play again tonight at 7:05 PM on NBC Sports Philadelphia. Nick Pivetta takes the mound against Kenta Maeda.
