Here’s your FanDuel Sportsbook PA betting update for Monday, August 19.

Things are heating up on the sports calendar and at PA online sportsbooks. The Phillies head to Boston Tuesday for an important two-game set against the defending World Series champs as they look to rebound from a disappointing series loss to the Padres. With the team idle Monday, we’ll take a look at some Phillies futures markets.

As for the Eagles, they return home to Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday night where they’ll host the Ravens in their third preseason game.

I’d like to tell you this one will be the traditional dress rehearsal, but it remains to be seen if Doug Pederson will get his starters meaningful reps in this one. At the very least, we should get our first look at Eagles new backup quarterback Josh McCown. So that’s fun.

Speaking of meaningful, college football’s regular season action kicks off on Saturday night in Orlando with an in-state rivalry game between Miami and Florida. We’ll fill you in on all of the action in today’s update.

Phillies Season Win Total and Playoff Odds

At 64-60, the Phillies are currently on pace to finish over .500 for the first time since 2011. If you think they can do it, FanDuel is offering some enticing odds with their regular season win total currently set at 81.5 wins.

For what it’s worth, both FanGraphs’ and FiveThirtyEight’s projection models have the Phillies going 18-20 the rest of the way, putting them right at 82 wins.

FanDuel is also giving the Phillies +500 odds to reach the postseason. Is there any value in that number? It depends. The implied probability of +500 is 16.7%, so if you go with the FiveThirtyEight model, there is slight value. If you trust the FanGraphs model, then +500 provides no value whatsoever.

Ravens-Eagles Odds at FanDuel Sportsbook PA

    Spread     Money        Total
Ravens      -3.5 (-115)   -180   O 36.5 (+100)
Eagles     +3.5  (-105)   +155   U 36.5 (-120)

Ravens-Eagles Trends to Know

Interestingly, the Eagles are a rare preseason home underdog. Dating back to the 2005 preseason, the Eagles have been a home dog in preseason action only once. It came in last year’s preseason finale against the Jets. The Eagles won the game outright.

It has been a mixed bag for bettors backing Pederson’s teams in the preseason. Overall, the Eagles are 8-6 both straight up and ATS under him in such games. They are also 5-2 SU and ATS at Lincoln Financial Field.

Seven of the Eagles’ preseason wins under Pederson have come by four or more points, including last week’s 24-10 win in Jacksonville.

Finally, the Eagles are 19-12 ATS at Lincoln Financial Field in the preseason dating back to 2005.

Florida-Miami Odds at FanDuel Sportsbook

    Spread     Money        Total
Miami     +7 (-115)  +220   O 47 (-110)
Florida     -7  (-105)  -280   U 47 (-110)

Florida-Miami Trends to Know

We will offer a few different game-specific trends to be aware of throughout the week in our daily updates.

We’ll start with SEC’s dominance against the spread over ACC opponents in recent seasons. SEC squads are 40-31-2 against ACC underdogs dating back to January 2005, including an 11-6 mark since 2006 and a 5-2 ATS run last season.

That’s good news for those of you looking to back the Gators.
