Oh yes.

College football is just around the corner, and today the season’s first poll just dropped, even though none of these teams have played a game yet and it’s virtually impossible to project the top 25 outside of Alabama and Clemson.

The Nittany Lions start in the top 15, which you can see right here:

Temple got two votes as well, so hell yeah.

But 14 is a good starting point for Penn State, who need to replace their starting quarterback (Trace McSorley), running back (Miles Sanders), and left tackle (Ryan Bates), the latter two who are now in training camp with the Philadelphia Eagles. Sanders left the field today with a minor injury and is expected to be fine while Bates puked last week, so there’s that.  McSorley might actually get a chance with the Ravens since RGIII is injured again, so that’s something to keep an eye on.

It’s an easy slate for the Nitts to start out, opening with three straight home games against the murderer’s row of Idaho, Buffalo, and Pitt. The Michigan game is at home and Wisconsin is not on the schedule, though PSU does have to travel to Iowa, Ohio State, and Michigan State. James Franklin is just 1-5 against the Michigans and Ohio State over the past two seasons.

As for Temple, they’ve got two home games against “power five” schools in September (Maryland and Georgia Tech), so that should be fun. First year in charge for Rod Carey after jabroni Manny Diaz peaced out.
