The second season of online sports betting in New Jersey is back, and we’ll kick off this weekend with Week 1 of college football, including the big game between Miami and Florida.

A lot has changed in the NJ sports betting market since last year, with new sportsbooks on the horizon and a whole slew of aggressive signup offers. New Jersey, more than any other state, allows its operators to offer aggressive deals to get in on the action.

Here are three places we recommend betting on the Miami Florida game and this football season.

DraftKings Sportsbook

DraftKings Sportsbook is the OG New Jersey sportsbook, and they have no shortage of action for the game this weekend.

Additionally, they are offering a bunch of signup offers and bonuses:

  • $200 first bet match— news users get their first bet matched up to $200
  • up to $500 deposit bonus— this one comes with a lot of fine print as the bonus will be dripped out over time, but it is still a strong offer for big bettors
  • Turnover bonus— bet on either team and get $10 towards a Free Bet for every turnover it forces

Hard to go wrong with DraftKings.

William Hill

William Hill recently launched their updated betting platform. And while it generally looks the same as what was available last year, it has a much more modern feel with a renewed focus on prop and in-game bets.

They aren’t offering a ton of pre-game action for Miami and Florida, but expect to be able to bet live in-game, which is something that wasn’t so easy to do with William Hill last year.

Additionally, if you bet $50, you can get $50 free. So it’s a no-brainer to check out William Hill for the Florida Miami game if you’re in New Jersey.

PointsBet

This will be the first college football bet PointsBet will officially be live to take. They launched the end of December last year very quietly, and were live throughout the NFL Playoffs.

PointsBet is one of our favorite sports betting apps, period. It offers some of, if not the best tech in the industry, a clever points betting feature which allows you to win a multiple of your bet. Say you place $5 on the over and then win a multiple for every point the game goes over. Don’t worry, you can cap your winnings and your losses. This is a fun high-risk, high-reward way to bet in NJ. Additionally, they offer the best signup bonus in the game– $1,000 in risk-free bets, one to use on a regular bet, one to use on a points bet.

Miami vs. Florida at NJ Sports Betting Sites

What about the game itself? We’ve put together a full Miami-Florida betting guide, but here’s a short version:

We like Florida to cover the spread at around seven or seven and a half points. If you can find them at seven, take it. Additionally, we like the under. This game opened at around a 50-point total, and then when it was announced that Miami’s redshirt freshman quarterback, Jarren Williams, would be starting, the total has since come down all the way to as low as 45.5 in some places.

We’ve identified some historical trends that show when the total goes down between 2-3 points for early season games, it’s indicative of sportsbooks not having a good read on the game. And indeed, the under is 14-9 in these situations. Therefore, we like the under in this one.

There’s your best bets.
