FanDuel Sportsbook PA is running its strongest promotion yet for the Penn State-Pitt game in Happy Valley this weekend. They are offering a $100 site credit if you correctly choose the winner.

How FanDuel’s Penn State vs. Pitt Promo Works

The offer is for new users only, and they have to use the promo code CFB2019 when they sign up.

A user’s first bet at FanDuel on the moneyline for either Penn State or Pitt (hint: take Penn State– they’re 17-point favorites) will pay out the original amount of the bet and a $100 in site credit.

Users must wager the $100 credit within 7 days before it is eligible to be withdrawn.

The minimum bet amount is $5.

Here’s an example:

  • bet $8 on Penn State on the moneyline at -800 (odds may vary)
  • Penn State wins
  • the bet would normally payout only $1 ($9 total)
  • receive an additional $100 in site credit

This is such a great offer from FanDuel because a Penn State bet would pay out so little otherwise. Unless you want to take long odds on Pitt. It’s effectively a $100 signup bonus… if your bet hits.

Pregame bets only, one wager per person, no live or cash out bets.

Strong Signup Offer

While the offer is good in all states, FanDuel Sportsbook is likely feeling increased pressure in Pennsylvania from FOX Bet, which launched in PA last week, and ramping up promotional efforts around college football. The two biggest football schools in the state are playing each other, so the opportunity to capitalize on have the two fan bases interested in the game is one they didn’t want to pass up.

Their main competitor, DraftKings Sportsbook PA, has not yet launched in the state. So these next few weeks will be key to garnering market share before more competition comes along.

Previously, FanDuel Sportsbook ran 53-1 odds on the Super Bowl, another tactic to bring in new users prior to a big game.

PA Betting

Numbers aren’t out yet for August, but FanDuel took in over $3 million in handle in just eight days in July. This was well behind the pace set by SugarHouse Sportsbook, which took in over $22 million in bets, but August will likely be a much different story as FanDuel was live for the full month.

Aggressive offers like this will only help chip away at the lead… and maybe even take it over.
