Doug P spoke to reporters at his day-after press conference, revealing that Carson Wentz only suffered a bruised hand and should be fine for Sunday’s game in Miami. He’s not expected to miss any practice time.

He was asked straight up if Wentz has the “yips” and said this:

No, no, it’s not the yips. There are times when it’s just a matter of setting your feet as a quarterback and just delivering a short throw, or getting your eyes on target a lot sooner than you do. He’s such a great thrower of the ball down the field, and these are the things that we continue to work on with him and we have to make sure Miles is in the right spot, too.

A little later in the availability, Doug answered a question about Carson’s missed throws, and whether he was seeing any trends or mechanical things pop up on film:

No. I do know that because he got hit early in the game that there were a couple of times, he [was] just a little erratic — just be able to set your feet and that comes with the extra contact.

We pride ourselves with the offensive line, the backs, the tight ends, trying to keep our quarterback as clean as possible, especially early in a football game, it gets him into a flow.

But as the game progressed and again watching the film this morning, if you remove the turnovers, it’s really not as bad as it appears. The turnovers make it worse than it was because we didn’t capitalize [and] we didn’t stay on the field. We had some drives and then turnovers stopped us. Those are the things we have to clean up.

Hmm, well I think I’d disagree. They were pretty bad even without the turnovers on Sunday.

Here’s what else Doug had to say:

  • RE: K.J. Wright saying that Seattle knew what was coming, Doug believes he was talking about the blown up Dallas Goedert screen play. He says teams have a lot of film on each other at this point in the season.
  • Carson is seeing the field the way he should be
  • Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor are still “trending in the right direction”
  • they felt like Andre Dillard was ready to play right tackle and had a great practice on Friday
  • he thinks Miles Sanders can handle 15-20 carries, even though he’s only running it 10-12 games right now
  • Jordan Howard is still listed as day to day
