Eagles Make Lane Johnson Highest Paid NFL Offensive Lineman

The Eagles locked up the right side of their offensive line Friday evening, extending Lane Johnson on a record deal just a few weeks after re-upping Brandon Brooks:

Sources: The #Eagles have agreed to a four-year, $72 million extension with right tackle Lane Johnson that includes $54.595 guaranteed. It is the largest contract for an NFL offensive lineman in history on a per-year and guarantee basis.

Jeff McLane is confirming the report.

Four years at $72 million would be 18 mill per year, which is nice! Trent Brown makes $16.5 million per year (AAV) with the Raiders and would now be #2 if the NFL is Garafolo’s numbers are accurate. Similarly, Taylor Lewan’s $50 million guaranteed would also take a back seat to Lane.

This deal means the Eagles’ entire line is locked up through 2021, assuming Jason Peters retires after this season and is replaced by Andre Dillard at left tackle. They now have the highest paid guard and tackle in the NFL.

Just need wide receivers now.
