Let’s check in on the Phillies.

The GM meetings are taking place in Phoenix, and we’ve got a tidbit in the form of J.T. Realmuto appearing on MLB Network Radio and talking about the offseason and his future.

Check out his comments about John Middleton and the organization’s desire to get that f****** trophy back:

Realmuto, in part:

“From my talks I’ve had with people in the organization, they know we have needs. They’re gonna do whatever they can to make them. That’s the beauty of this organization, is they want to win right now, and John had made it clear that they want to win and money isn’t gonna be an issue for us. If we need guys, we’re gonna go out and get ’em, and if we have to pay for ’em we’re gonna pay. We’re in a place right now where we’ve invested a lot into winning, and last year obviously was a huge disappointment and there’s a lot of moves we need to make. So I definitely see them being really aggressive this offseason.

He went on to say that he would not be opposed to staying in Philadelphia long term if presented with a deal that sets him and his family up. The organization has treated him well thus far, and that sounds good to me.

Actually, all of this sounds good to me. Let’s spend some more #stupidmoney this winter. We’re gonna go out and get Gerrit Cole, Stephen Strasburg, and Cole Hamels. Then we’re gonna go out and get Anthony Rendon and Zack Wheeler and Mike Moustakas and Didi Gregorius.

And then we’re gonna go to Washington D.C. to take back the White House… byahhhhhhhhhh!
