On Friday night, the Philadelphia 76ers are on the road taking on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks are absolutely dreadful. At 4-14, they find themselves dead last in the Eastern Conference and are only a half game behind the Golden State Warriors for the worst record in the entire NBA. The Sixers, meanwhile, remain in fifth place in the East with a 12-6 record, just a half game behind the Miami Heat and three games behind Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Milwaukee Bucks. With that out of the way, let’s get into our Sixers-Knicks betting preview.

Bets We Like With a Sixers Win

This is about as much of a sure-fire win for the Sixers as you’re going to see and to that end FiveThirtyEight gives the Sixers a 87% chance of winning with a -11.5 point line. Additionally, the Sixers have won their past nine games overall against the Knicks.

Sixers Win and Joel Embiid Over 12.5 Rebounds (+105, Fox Bet)

Excluding the March 28, 2018 contest when Joel Embiid had his face broken by former Sixer Markelle Fultz, Embiid has averaged 11.25 rebounds per game in his last eight games against the Knicks. In his four games against the Knicks at MSG, he’s pulled in an average of 12 rebounds per game and has averaged the same amount in his past five games overall against New York. It’s also worth noting that Embiid has pulled in 13 or more rebounds in three of the Sixers’ last four games.

Sixers Win and Tobias Harris Over 1.5 Made 3-Point Field Goals (+135, Fox Bet)

Tobias Harris will presumably have plenty of opportunities to shoot the rock from deep in this game. His last two games against the Knicks as a member of the Sixers include 2-5 and 3-7 performances from deep, with the latter coming at Madison Square Garden. You’d have to go back to 2017-18 to find more evidence of Harris’ play against the Knicks, but even so, he averaged 2.7 made threes on 6.7 attempts.

Bet Independent of Outcome

Tobias Harris Over 18.5 Points (-104, DraftKings)

Tobias Harris has performed exceptionally in his past two games at MSG, amassing an average of over 25 points per game.

Shot in the Dark

Embiid Over 29.5 Points, Simmons Over 9.5 Rebounds, Korkmaz Over 11.5 Points & 76ers to Cover -3.5 (+1300, Fox Bet)

There’s a lot to unpack here. Embiid averaged 25.5 points per game against New York a season ago and posted 23 points earlier this season against them. Ben Simmons averaged 11.5 rebounds per game against the Knicks a season ago and had seven agains them in a near triple-double earlier this month. I expect this to be a rout, so the Sixers covering 3.5 points should be no issue, and if that’s the case, expect to see Furkan Korkmaz chucking some shots from deep. The entire thing could hinge on the man from Turkey.
