Apparently, the Eagles love a good reunion.

Only a few days after officially bringing back wide receiver Jordan Matthews for a third stint in Philadelphia, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that the Eagles and running back Jay Ajayi may also be getting back together:

Jordan Howard, who has rushed for a combined 178 yards and two touchdowns in his last two games, appeared on the team’s injury report earlier in the week with a shoulder injury. He practiced in a limited role on Thursday, but his status for Sunday’s showdown with the Patriots remains uncertain.

Darren Sproles unexpectedly (sorta?) popped up on the team’s injury report earlier today and sat out practice with a quad injury. The timing of Ajayi’s Friday visit certainly raises concerns about the availability of both players.

In 11 career games with the Eagles, Ajayi has rushed for 592 yards on 115 carries (5.1 ypc) to go along with 15 catches for 111 yards and five total touchdowns. Ajayi tore his ACL in a 23-21 Week 5 loss to the Vikings last season on this play:

Stay tuned.
