Joel Embiid scored zero points in a really rough outing last night. He was 0-11 from the field and 0-3 from the foul line, managing only two shots in the paint as he tried to deal with Marc Gasol and constant double teams throughout the game.

Stephen A Smith had quite the reaction on First Take today, wondering exactly what the hell is going on while imploring Brett Brown to do some coaching.

Volume up:

“My God. Stop with the jump shots. Get your big behind down in the low post. Start making some noise there. Get to the damn free throw line. Make the free throws when you get there. And oh by the way, Brett Brown, can you please coach? It’s your job. Why are we seeing the same thing from Joel Embiid that we were seeing two years ago in terms of his game?”

I hear no untruths in that video clip. And Max’s ‘Posidelphia’ take again just reinforces what we already know – that if the Sixers ever channel their talent into some sort of consistency, they can win the whole thing. They’re a title contender if the two stars and the coach perform. No, it’s not the best fit on the floor, but there’s enough raw talent out there to get the job done anyway.
