Fresh off a comeback win against the Washington Redskins, let’s get an injury update from the head ball coach, Doug Pederson:

“Everybody is trending in the right direction. I’m optimistic. Lane (Johnson]), obviously is going to be a day-to-day thing. He is getting better. Don’t expect him to do a whole lot today, tomorrow, Wednesday, right now. We’ll see where he’s at later in the week. Nelly is in the same situation. Jordan (Howard) is in the same situation. So really no change or anything further with them. (Derek) Barnett is doing better. We expect him to do something later in the week. See where he’s at, get him on land and get him going. Everybody’s getting there. It’s a slow process but they’re healing.

Pretty sure Doug has used the term “trending in the right direction for something like three straight weeks now. Johnson and Barnett are dealing with ankle injuries, Howard a shoulder stinger, and Nelson Agholor a knee. All four guys played against the Cowboys back in October.

Here’s what else Doug had to say at his day-after press conference:

  • Kamu Grugier-Hill’s snaps were down because of the “structure” of Washington’s offense and because T.J. Edwards has been playing well.
  • 16 third down situations was “too many”
  • Carson Wentz is doing a better job of spreading the ball around and Doug is trying to help with screen plays and the running game
  • the Eagles had seven different personnel groups in the game Sunday
  • the Cowboys had a great game plan back in October and “kicked our tail”
