Stop me if you’ve heard this before:

Jordan Howard is not yet cleared for contact, according to Doug Pederson, who spoke to the media this morning.

The Birds running back hasn’t played since the Bears game, when he suffered a 4th quarter stinger. He’s now missed four straight games and is in danger of missing a fifth if he can’t go in Landover this weekend.

So it looks like Miles Sanders and the X-Factor, Boston Scott, will be carrying the load again this week. Scott went for more than 100 scrimmage yards on Monday night, while Sanders has carried the ball 32 times in the last two games while adding nine catches on ten receiver targets.

Doug also said that Alshon Jeffery will have surgery for his Lisfranc injury while Nelson Agholor is “still working through” his knee issue. He also said that he’s stressed to the team that it’s important for them to “self police” when it comes to head and neck injuries, in response to a question about Kamu Grugier-Hill lying about a concussion he suffered in the Miami game.

“It’s disappointing to me as a head coach,” Pederson said. “It’s not a reflection on the team or anything like that, it’s one guy who made a bad decision, bad choice. I look at it, I take football aside, and I say this is a well-being issue. If he got hit again in that game, who knows what could have happened. I’ll reiterated to our team the importance of reporting injuries, regardless of what type of injury it is. I just want him and the guys to understand that I’m disappointed in the decision.

Pederson said he’ll visit with Howie Roseman but didn’t have an answer on whether or not Grugier-Hill will be disciplined.
