On Monday night, the Philadelphia 76ers host the Utah Jazz at Wells Fargo Center. The Jazz look to end their five-game road trip on a positive note, having compiled a 1-3 record thus far, including a lone victory against the Memphis Grizzlies and losses to Milwaukee, Indiana, and Toronto. The Sixers, on the other hand, have won seven of their last eight games with their only loss coming in a listless Joel Embiid performance in Toronto. With that, let’s get into our Sixers-Jazz betting preview.

At 14-6, the Sixers remain in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, just three games back of the Giannis Antetokounmpo-led Milwaukee Bucks. The Jazz, who many considered a dark horse candidate to win the Western Conference, are 12-8, which is good for sixth place.

Bets We Like With a Sixers Win

Sixers Win and Under Total Points (+190, DraftKings)

FiveThirtyEight gives the Sixers a 75% chance of winning with a -7 point line. Additionally, the Sixers have won their past 10 home games. As for total points, any game with DPOY Rudy Gobert taking on Joel Embiid feels like the under is a strong bet.

Bets We Like Independent of Outcome

Sixers Win the First Quarter (-167, DraftKings)

A big reason the Sixers have found such a high amount of success in their past 10 home games can be directly attributed to hot starts. The Sixers have won the first quarter in each of their last eight at home. Conversely, the Jazz have been outscored in the first in their previous three games.

Sixers Win the First and Second Quarters (+200, Fox Bet)

If you buy into the last bet, there’s sound logic in getting better odds here. Utah has had a rough road trip and are likely ready to head back out west. The Jazz have lost first and second quarters in three consecutive games. The downside here is that the Sixers are 3-3-2 in the second quarter of their last 8 games.

Utah Covers and Under Total Points (+275, DraftKings)

The Sixers have failed to cover the spread in their last four games and have seen their last five games all finish in a difference of six or fewer points. While the Jazz have had the total points go over in four of their past five games, the Sixers have seen the exact opposite. With Joel Embiid and DPOY Rudy Gobert going toe-to-toe, this feels like an under.

Joe Ingles to Score Over 9.5 points and Jazz Win (+700, Fox Bet)

From 2012-2017, the Utah Jazz won nine consecutive games against the Sixers. Following that dominant run, Philadelphia rattled off four straight wins until the Jazz’s 106-104 win on November 6. If you’re of the belief that the Jazz will pull through in this one, take Joe Ingles to score over 9.5 points and the Jazz to win at +700. Ingles has dropped 16, 9, 14, 8, and 15 points in his last five games against the Sixers and is likely go over 9.5 points tonight.

Shot in the Dark

Ben Simmons to Record a Triple-Double (+425, Fox Bet)

FOX Bet put out a bet boost from +350 to +425 on Ben Simmons to record a triple double, and for good reason. In his last full game against Utah on December 27, 2018, Simmons put up 13 points, 12 assists, and 14 rebounds. In the game before that, Simmons put up a line of 10/8/8, and as a rookie he posted 27/2/10 and 16/6/13. Triple-doubles are hard to achieve, but Simmons has been so close on so many occasions. It’s worth a look.

Sixers vs. Jazz Prediction

Pick: Sixers win the game and Utah covers.
