Crazy fight in Lawrence last night at the end of the Kansas vs. K-State game.

The Jayhawks were up by 21 points and trying to dribble out the clock, when one of the Wildcat players stole the ball and tried to finish at the other end. That resulted in an angry block, a pseudo step-over, and then the benches cleared as the melee spilled off the floor and out of bounds.

This is how it played out on TV, the wide-angle shot of the court:

“There are going to be ramifications for this going forward.”

For sure. God willing, they’ll cancel the Kansas basketball season and let somebody else win the Big 12.

Here’s a closer angle from a reporter who was down at that end of the floor, a better shot of punches being thrown:

And this was shot from I believe from the crowd and shows the front angle of Kansas’ Silvio De Sousa taking a huge swing at David Sloan, #4 on K-State:

In the immediate aftermath, every player who left the bench was ejected, while Kansas State had to come back out of the locker room and shoot technical fouls. The teams are supposed to play again on February 29th in Manhattan, which should be a doozy.
