LeSean McCoy is going to the Super Bowl with Andy Reid, his first NFL coach and the guy who brought him to Kansas City following his offseason release from the Buffalo Bills.

Shady hasn’t carried the ball in a while, taking on a diminished role behind Damien Williams, but the 31 year old Harrisburg native isn’t ready to retire yet. When he does, he’s likely to go out as a Bird, according to Jeff McLane at the Philadelphia Inquirer:

“I’m going to retire as an Eagle,” McCoy said. “Right now, I’m a Chief. I’m doing my thing here. But when it’s all said and done, that’s home for me. It’s weird because places I play at, people know that.”

Shady, as you know, was unceremoniously dumped by Chip Kelly, saying this at Super Bowl media day about that whole nonsensical era:

“I was real hurt in Philly when that happened,” McCoy said. “That hurt me for a while because I was the best player on the team, especially on offense. And that was like home for me. My hometown is an hour away.”

McCoy is the Birds’ all-time rushing leader, putting up 6,742 yards and 44 touchdowns on 1,461 attempts. I couldn’t stand him because of 12/1/2007, but he really was fun to watch in an Eagles uniform before Chip’s ego got in the way.
