Carlos Beltran’s Mets tenure is over.

He managed zero games for the team.

Beltran was recently named in Major League Baseball’s investigation of the Houston Astros, and essentially stepped down today from his new post before even getting started:

The 42 year old Beltran was with the Astros in 2017, when the plot to steal signs unfolded. He’s now the third manager to lose his job in the fallout, following A.J. Hinch and Alex Cora in Houston and Boston, respectively. Astros GM Jeff Luhnow was also fired by owner Jim Crane.

Ironically, Joe Girardi’s Yankees tenure ended with the 2017 ALCS loss to Houston. If that series had gone differently, perhaps he would not be managing the Phillies right now.
