Tom Brady is no longer a New England Patriot, announcing today that he’ll be leaving the team after 20 seasons in which he won six Super Bowls and compiled a list of personal honors and achievements as long as a CVS receipt. He’ll go into the Hall of Fame as the best quarterback to ever play in the National Football League.

As such, it’s hard to parse Brady’s New England career, because it’s so long and features so many things worth talking about. It’s kind of like building an AC/DC setlist from 16 albums containing more than 100 songs. You can’t fit everything into a two-hour gig, but you’ll always find room for classics like “Hells Bells” and “Thunderstruck.”

In a similar fashion, I spent the morning going through Brady’s New England career, and painstakingly trimmed his list of best moments into a top five of all time:

5. Showing off the arm strength

Super Bowl 52, Patriots vs. Philadelphia Eagles.

Trailing by eight points with 1:05 on the clock, Brady easily moved his team 40 yards down the field to set up one final heave into the end zone. Rob Gronkowski was covered one versus six, and made a valiant effort before watching the ball fall harmlessly to the turf, but not many quarterbacks have the arm strength to make an amazing throw like this one:

4. Self-awareness

Prior to the Hail Mary toss, Brady spoke with Gronkowski on the sidelines.

“Nick Foles cannot be stopped,” he said with grave concern. “I have a feeling we might not win this game.”

It was at this moment that Brady realized defeat, but it showed his humble nature and serves as a great example of self-awareness. It’s his fourth-best moment as a New England Patriot:

3. A threat to run the ball

Known for his speed, Brady turned on the afterburners during the second quarter of SB52, in an attempt to put some points on the board before halftime.

2. Trick play ability

One of the things that made Brady so good was his versatility.

The pinnacle of that was this athletic trick play where he actually ran into the flat as a receiver and had Danny Amendola throw him the ball instead. If it was a better pass, he would have obviously made the catch for a big gain:

He showed great strength in hanging in the pocket, staring down an onrushing Philadelphia Eagle, and attempting a difficult pass. Lesser quarterbacks would have wilted under the pressure:
