Entercom was dealing with some nonsense last September when hackers froze emails and crashed computer systems and demanded a ransom of $500,000 from the Philly-based radio company that owns 94 WIP and other stations. Then a second incident took place a month later, with another dude hacking into their system.

Eventually they got it all under control, though Jeff Blumenthal at the Philadelphia Business Journal is reporting today that Radio.com user information was exposed.

Writes Jeff:

During the investigation, Entercom became aware of unauthorized activity related to third-party cloud hosting services, which it uses to store information on Radio.com users.

“After a thorough and intensive review process, the investigation recently confirmed the population of impacted individuals whose protected personal information was accessed by the unauthorized actor,” Entercom said in the notice.

Specifically, Entercom discovered that the attacker gained access to the names, usernames and passwords of certain Radio.com users. The company did not say how many users of the app had their data breached and a spokeswoman could not be immediately reached for comment Wednesday.

Entercom took steps to up their security, though they want you to change your password for your Radio.com account and other accounts using the same password. The company sent out breach notification letters and told authorities about the situation, as required by law.
